4th of July Bethany Style

by Dave on July 1, 2008

For an action-packed 4th of July, check out the beautiful seaside hamlet of Bethany Beach. Not only will you be treated to an aerial fireworks display, but they start the day with their 24th annual 4th of July Parade.

This year’s parade starts at noon at Garfield Parkway and North Pennsylvania Avenue and goes until 1:30. Dedicated to the Bethany Beach Patrol, this year’s theme is “Pride, Tradition and Dedication.” Registration begins at 9am.

At the conclusion of the parade (2pm), there will be an old-fashioned horseshoe pitching tournament on the grounds of the Christian Church (at the parade’s starting point).

At this point, you get time to travel to the Caribbean by dining oceanfront at Mango’s or treat your tastebuds to some of the best authentic barbecue anywhere at Bethany Blues.

The day’s awards will be presented at 7:15 at the Bethany Beach bandstand.

Then, beginning at dusk, the Town of Bethany Beach presents their annual fireworks display.

In summary, Bethany Beach has you covered all day on the 4th.
