Rough Surf, Rip Currents A Risk

by Dave on July 20, 2008

Tropical Storm Bertha, though many miles away, is creating havoc along the Delaware coastline. Large surf and rip currents are making life a little more difficult for lifeguards up and down the beaches of Coastal Sussex.

Now the National Weather Service has released a warning to bathers entering the surf to be extremely careful after three people drowned last week in New Jersey due to rip currents.

So be careful if you’re here at the beach this week. We have the finest beach patrols in the land, but the fewer emergencies they have to respond to, the more they can focus on keeping the beach safe.
