Lewes to Conduct Carrying Capacity Study

by Dave on February 11, 2009

According to John Mateyko, chair of Managing Growth Around Lewes, “the Lewes City Council voted on Monday night  tonight to enter into a planning contract that is expected to result in a carrying capacity study for the City of Lewes as well as presentation of the application to the state to declare the main roads of Lewes “Scenic and Historic Byways”, puts Lewes in a statewide leadership position on planning.”

This could have a significant effect on future plans to develop property in and around the Lewes City limits. From what I understand, the money for the carrying capacity study has already been secured by Rep. Joe Booth and Sen. Gary Simpson. We will continue to monitor this situation.
