Restaurant Row – Kindle

by Dave on July 4, 2009

As first seen in Coastal Sussex Weekly, June 18, 2009:

Recently relocated from Milton’s Paynter’s Mill to the former Books By The Bay in the heart of Lewes is Kindle, a collaboration between Chef Ian Crandall and Lewes restaurateur Matt DiSabatino.

The cozy, intimate dining room and adjacent patio fill quickly with guests who come to “Eat. Drink. Glow.”

The dinner menu at Kindle starts off with first courses such as Spring Leek & Truffle Tartine (rustic bread topped with melted leeks, homemade truffle ricotta and fresh goat cheese) and Mussels in a broth of Chardonnay, shallots, leeks and Italian parsley.

Second courses feature favorites like the tender, delicious Spiced Roast Chicken (with an herbed honey glaze, smoked paprika, gruyere mac & cheese and baby greens) and the Campanelle Pasta (trumpet-shaped pasta tossed with basil pesto, petite squash, teardrop tomatoes, pine nuts, arugula & marinated fresh mozzarella).

Kindle also now serves lunch, highlighted by the Kindle Burger, topped with Vermont cheddar, smoked bacon and a brioche bun.
