Race for the Paws With the SPCA

The SPCA of Georgetown, Delaware will host the first annual “Run for the Paws” 5K Run/1 mile walk on Saturday August 22 in Dewey Beach, Delaware. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the run/walk will begin at 8:00am at the Starboard. Registration is $15 in advance and $20 the day of the race; The event will be held rain or shine.

All of the proceeds from this race will go directly to the care and comfort of animals in the Georgetown shelter. Put your paws to work and help raise money and awareness for homeless animals!

Awards will be presented to top finishers and race t-shirts are guaranteed to the first 200 registrants. In addition, a beer voucher will be given to all runners (of age) registered for the event. The Georgetown SPCA is a low-kill facility dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and encouragement of humane treatment of all animals. All dog and cat adoptions through the Delaware SPCA include neutering, micro-chipping, a free wellness exam through a participating veterinarian and initial distemper and rabies shots. In addition, vaccination and rabies clinics are held regularly and provide low-cost options to pet owners.
