We’ve touched on the best B&B’s in the area in a past issue, but we’ve yet to broach the subject of the best traditional hotels in the area. It’s a Lewes & Rehoboth-dominated list, but we’ve got some world-class spots right here…

The Bellmoor – Located on Christian Street in Rehoboth Beach, a luxurious spot complete with in-house spa.

Atlantic Sands – Fronting the Boardwalk, the renovated Sands has its own restaurant, banquet facilities and now a Surf Bagel and Bad Hair Day attached.

Inn At Canal Square – Probably the most superb rooms in the entire area are the private second-floor canalfront cottage rooms at this Lewes staple.

Boardwalk Plaza – Also on the boardwalk, featuring tea time and a great Sunday brunch at Victoria’s, their in-house restaurant.

Hotel Rodney – In a historic building on Second Street, the Hotel Rodney has food & culture with the adjoining Beseme Restaurant and the Packard Reath Gallery. Across the street is the legendary King’s Ice Cream.

Hotel Blue – On the east side of the canal in Lewes, the Hotel Blue merges contemporary design with coastal influences. Walk to the Fisherman’s Wharf for a trip on one of the fishing or dolphin-watching cruises.
