20th Annual Lewes Garden Tour June 19

The 20th Annual Lewes Garden tour is scheduled for June 19th, 2010. The event is centered around a self-guided tour of eight private gardens and one public garden in the historic seaport town of Lewes, Delaware. Complementary activities include a garden market with vendors specializing in garden related retail items, free lectures on gardening related topics, and working artists and quilters in the gardens.

Included are artists Karen Apostolico, Sonia Hunt, Pat Reardon, Sue Tulloch from the Cape Artists and Barbara Lloyd, Lesley McCaskill & Steve Rogers and Joyce Zeigler; quilters Helen Allen, Johanna Barbati, Anita Barthelson, Carol Fisher, Sandra Friant, Marion Fruehauf, Gail Kennedy, Ludmila Morgan, Rose Carr, Pat Steel and Sue Wimmer.

There will be lectures on water garden installation in one of the private gardens by Richard Koogle, director of operations for Lilypons Water Gardens, Buckeystown, MD and garden lectures in Zwaanendael by Warren Golde, Christopher Valenti and Brenda Brady.

A Food Tent will be available in the Park throughout the day.

How much: Garden Tour – $15 in advance; $20 the day of the tour

Tickets can be purchased in advance beginning Memorial Day Weekend at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce located at 120 Kings Highway in the Fisher-Martin House. Payment by charge (Visa and MC) by calling Chamber or by sending a check to the address above and the tickets will be held for pick up at the Chamber’s offices.
