On Saturday, June 26th, Epworth United Methodist Church will celebrate National Skateboarding Day and the community youth with Sk8te Day3 from 12 Noon until 4pm, sponsored by the Epworth Youth Network. There will be demonstrations by skate team members from area shops. The free skate park is open to everyone with helmets, pads and permission slips required. There will be a moon bounce for the children and food and drinks available. Local band, “Not My Own”, will be performing. Proceeds to be used for future skateboarding events.

Parents and kids alike appreciate Sk8te Days at Epworth. Parent Karen Barwick says that “she is thrilled that Epworth has been willing to support skateboarders. The non-competitive nature of skateboarding and the way the kids really help and applaud each other shows their love for the sport in a very supportive, good-natured ways. We typically have to travel to Ocean City for our son to be part of a skateboarding community .”

Tim and Monique Bamforth echo Barwick’s gratitude, “The Epworth Skate Days have given children in our area the opportunity to do what they love doing in a safe and appropriate environment. We are thankful to Epworth Church and other supporters for spearheading this initiative.”

Epworth United Methodist Church is located at 19285 Holland Glade Road, just north of Rehoboth Beach. For more information, call the church office 227-7743 or visit www.epworth-rehoboth.org.
