Public Workshop Announced for Route 9 Safety Improvement Projects

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) invites citizens to attend an upcoming public workshop for the Route 9 Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Projects. The workshop will be held Monday, June 7, 2010, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the DelDOT South District Administration Building, 23697 DuPont Boulevard, Georgetown. Members of the public will have the opportunity to give input on projects at the following intersections: Route 9 and Gravel Hill Road/Route 30; Route 9 and Hudson and Fisher Roads; and Route 9 and Sweetbriar and Dairy Farm Roads.

The projects include the widening of the intersections of Route 9 at Gravel Hill Road/Route 30, widening of the intersection of Route 9 at Hudson and Fisher Roads with realignment of the two minor roads, widening of the intersection of Route 9 at Sweetbriar and Dairy Farm Roads including a possible permanent closure of Log Cabin Hill Road at Sweetbriar Road. Attendees will have an opportunity to review display materials and provide comments to DelDOT representatives.

Interested persons are invited to express their views in writing, giving reasons for support of or in opposition to, the
proposed project. Comments will be received during the workshop or can be mailed to DelDOT Public Relations, P.O.
Box 778, Dover, DE 19903-0778. This location is accessible to persons having disabilities. Any person having special
needs or requiring special aid, such as an interpreter for the hearing impaired, is requested to contact DelDOT by phone or mail one week in advance.
