On Saturday, August 14, 2010, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Gallery 50 (50-A Wilmington Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971) will host a benefit for AIDS Delaware. The evening will include a silent fine art auction, with work valued over 10,000 dollars, donated by some of Gallery 50’s 25 represented artists, as well as a few generous artists that are not represented by the gallery.

The evening will also feature a raffle drawing for a $1,000.00 Gallery 50 gift certificate. Raffle tickets ($10.00 for one ticket and $25.00 for three tickets) are on sale now at Gallery 50, SPAHR (43 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach), and AIDS Delaware’s headquarters (100 West 10th Street, Suite 315, Wilmington, DE 19801). Tickets may also be purchased by calling Gallery 50, 302.227.2050. The winner does not need to be present at time of drawing. A portion of the proceeds from both the auction and raffle will be donated to AIDS Delaware.

“Last year we held a very successful benefit for AIDS Delaware,” comments Jay Pastore, Director of Gallery 50. “This year we anticipate the event will be larger, since more artists are involved.”

The silent auction will include a wide range of media including painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture, and textile art with works by Rick Bach, Betsy Damos, Lisa Tyson Ennis, Susan Finsen, Michael Fitts, Pam Foss, Aurelio Grisanty, Gabriel Jules, Paul Kerkhoven, Cheryl Pickles Kinion, Heide Lowe, Michael Matarese, Rose Minetti, Jim Mott, Michael Muller, John A. Nyberg, Maureen O’Brien, Gary Pearson, Brian Petro, Duane Rieder, Russell Richards, Harold Ross, Scott Spahr, and Pat Whitehead.

Food for the event will be donated by A Touch of Italy, Henlopen City Oyster House, Hobos, Nourish, Salt Air and Mary Jane Stanton (former chef of Celsius Restaurant), all located in Rehoboth Beach.

“AIDS Delaware greatly appreciates Gallery 50’s support,” says John Klein, Executive Director of the organization. “The funds raised at the event will be channeled into our Sussex County client food closet and transportation services for people living with HIV/AIDS.”

AIDS Delaware is the first and largest statewide non-profit AIDS service organization in Delaware. For over 25 years AIDS Delaware has been providing quality case management programs for people living with HIV/AIDS. In addition, the organization provides HIV testing and counseling and prevention education and outreach programs for the general public.
