United Way of Delaware Opens New Sussex County Office

by Dave on August 5, 2010

The United Way of Delaware will be celebrating the opening of their new Sussex County Office on Tuesday, August 10th from 4-6pm. UWD supporters, including various Kent and Sussex United Way board members, UWD executive leadership and staff, leaders from UWD-supported partner agencies and employee volunteers and partners from the local business sector will be on hand.

The office is located at 206 Academy Street in Georgetown, an office shared by Sussex County’s chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The office was previously located in Rehoboth Beach. However, according to the United Way, Georgetown provides a more centralized location for United Way to serve its partner agencies and generous supporting businesses and community members.

United Way of Delaware’s mission is to maximize the community’s resources to improve the quality of life for all Delawareans. United Way of Delaware (UWD) works to advance the common good by focusing on the three building blocks to a good life: education, income and health. UWD is engaged in a long-term strategy to eliminate the root causes of Delaware’s most pressing social problems in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties. UWD works collectively with business, government, social service agencies, academic groups, community organizations, and concerned citizens to effect positive, long-lasting solutions for today and into the future. For more information, to make a contribution, or to volunteer to work with UWD, please visit www.uwde.org or call (302) 734-4779 or (302) 856-7884.
