Ken Skrzesz and Sydney Dodd prepare for Opening Night!

The Clear Space Theatre Company begins its new fall season later this month and they are pulling out all the stops. Thursday, September 30th marks the opening night of their production 100 Years of Broadway III, and even more exciting, their first performance in their new home at The Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts. To celebrate, the company will host a red carpet event prior to the opening of the show.

Guests can expect to stroll down the red carpet leading into the theatre, complete with a photographer, videographer and red carpet interviews, hosted by Clear Space company member Valorie Jarrell. Inside the theatre lobby, a cash bar and concessions are available to patrons, who may also peruse the artist galleries located within Celebration Mall. The opening night festivities are sponsored by Jam, a bistro located within Celebration Mall.

Ken Skrzesz, Executive Director of Clear Space, echoes the excitement filling the company’s new home. “The staff at Clear Space hopes to add to the vibrancy of the downtown social scene,” says Skrzesz. “We want to connect performing arts to all downtown activites, both in and out of season.”

Located on the ocean block of Baltimore Avenue, Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts will house Clear Space’s season of productions, as well as presenting visiting artists and performing arts groups. The company hopes to have something happening in the theatre at all times. “One location, in the heart of a thriving downtown community, will allow our audiences to plan other events to coincide with attending the theatre,” Skrzesz says. “Combining a walk on the boardwalk or having a meal on the same evening as seeing a show creates a memorable occasion. Theatre attendance becomes a part of what one naturally plans, rather than an exclusive experience.”

100 Years of Broadway III is an all-new musical revue of standards and new favorites from the Great White Way, selected and arranged by Clear Space Artistic Director Doug Yetter. Some tunes that audience members may recognize include “All That Jazz,” “Til There Was You,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” and “Workin’ My Way Back To You.”

100 Years of Broadway III performances run September 30, October 1&3 and October 7-9 at Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts at 20 Baltimore Ave. Tickets are priced $5 to $25 and are available online at www.ClearSpaceTheatre.org or by calling the box office at 302.227.2270.
