Matt Carter of Quest Fitness & Kayak

When he first heard about UNITE SUSSEX’s Amazing Challenge, Matt Carter, owner of Quest Fitness and Kayak (located at the Village at Five Points, Food Lion Shopping Center in Lewes), stepped forward to help. “I’m excited to be part of the first annual Amazing Challenge and to support the programs of UNITE SUSSEX”, said Carter. He continued……“I was initially attracted to the idea of the Amazing Challenge because I liked the concept of mental and physical challenges. It fits into the Quest motto–we are an adventurous exercise experience, just like the Amazing Challenge is going to be an adventure. We like to encourage this type of adventure in our community and we are proud to be a part of it”

Using the television reality show The Amazing Race, as a model, UNITE SUSSEX is putting challenges together that have a Sussex County flavor. While admitting that the prize is NOT a million dollars or a trip around the world like the television show, Lynne Maloy, executive director of UNITE SUSSEX, says that the challenges will be creative and stimulating. “We’ve had committees working on this for months now—wracking their brains to come up with something totally Sussex County—and I think they succeeded.

While the course and the challenges will remain a secret until October 9th, the day of the event, Carter did admit that teams could prepare for part of the challenge by “working on their kayaking skills”. He also admitted that members of Quest Fitness and Kayak are organizing teams to compete in the fundraiser.

Teams consist of two people and can be family, friends, acquaintances or colleagues. The cost to register a team is $90. To be part of this fun filled event, call UNITE SUSSEX at 302-752-6225 or email unitesussex@hotmail.com. All proceeds of the Amazing Challenge go to UNITE SUSSEX.
