The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28, Oak Orchard-Riverdale, Millsboro, Delaware was awarded the very prestigious President’s Award for Excellence at the National Convention held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last August. The award was received by Unit President Carole Baldwin and the 11 delegates from the Department of Delaware in attendance.

The President’s Award for Excellence is special as it represents the “best of the best” in planning and implementation of Auxiliary efforts to meet the mission of serving veterans, children and communities. By establishing objectives, creating action steps to accomplish those objectives, and then reporting the achieved outcomes, measurable success was achieved.

Five unit awards and one Department award may be given each year. This year there were over 1200 entries submitted and it is with a deep sense of accomplishment and honor that the Officers and member of Unit 28 and the Department of Delaware share this award with the veterans, children and community we diligently serve.
