by Dave on September 22, 2010

Traditional Mississippi blues man Lonnie Shields returns to the Maker’s Mark Stage at Bethany Blues in Lewes 9 p.m. Friday September 24.
A renowned blues guitarist, singer and songwriter, Shield’s music reveals his strong background in soul, gospel and R & B. Bethany Blues managing partner Kevin Roberts says Shields’ extraordinary live blues performances epitomize the type of music he is committed to preserving in our region.

With BB King as his primary influence, Shields has won national praise for his recordings and has toured internationally. He has performed with The Jelly Roll Kings and has played with such Blues greats as Sam Carr, Sonny Rhodes, Eddie Shaw and Big Jack Johnson.
Shields is part of the Sydney’s Music Revival at Bethany Blues, an exciting live jazz and blues music venue created through a corroboration between Roberts and Sydney Arzt, former owner of the nationally-recognized Rehoboth Beach Jazz club and restaurant, Sydney’s.
