Bethany Blues Green Roof Installation

In late June, Element assisted Bethany Blues with the installation of the green roof that has been a part of the design from the beginning. The Owners of Bethany Blues, Sara Holland, Amanda Tesoro, and Matthew Peterson from Element, and American Hardscapes worked hand in hand to finalize the construction. Starting with a filter mat, adding stone and a soil media, and finaling planting over 1500 seedums, the whole process only took 4 hours and the investment is well worth the return. Element is starting to work on living roofs on homes in Wilmington and Southern Delaware. If you want to see more pictures of the “big plant”, click here . Or you can watch an interview that aired on WHYY. Follow this link and click on “Living Roof”.

Sorbello community farms

Element is collaborating with Sorbello Community Farms to design, market and, ultimately, build a fully sustainable zero energy Community Farm in southern New Jersey. This teaming involves Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Architecture and Element’s ECO-consulting to insure that, once installed, the farm and the “barn” will be environmentally sensitive, community enhancing, and a great venture of which to be a part.

Real Estate Sales, Commercial Leasing and Beyond

Over the past year, Element has obtained real estate licenses for a few key personnel while working with a local broker in Southern Delaware. These agents have been spending time gathering information, data, and locations to assist prospective Buyers in locating their next home, second home or coastal getaway. In addition to Residential Sales, Element is working with prospective tenants, building owners, and commercial real estate brokers to perform test fits and preliminary design. Prospective tenants and Building Owners/Property Management Firms are able to see what an optimized space will look and feel like – helping to market and lease space from a locational and spatial perspective. These services and many other unique services are all part of Beyond.

Civil Engineering excellence

And don’t forget our land development and civil engineering team . Element’s civil group has been assisting clients in reducing their development costs during these tighter times. We have been value engineering many sites to reduce construction costs without compromising the design intent and have been re-phasing many site plans to minimize the developer’s up front cost. Our team has been focused on instituting green best management practices (BMPs) for soil and erosion control measures as well. As an example, we are specifying the use of compost filter methods in lieu of traditional silt fence to minimize installation and removal costs while providing a recyclable material for integration into the final grading and landscaping. Element’s civil group has developed good relationships with all of the review agencies and has been successful in completing projects in a timely manner without the sacrifice of quality engineering and design. We are partnering with planners and developers throughout the region to assist them in expediting their plan approvals particularly in Sussex County. Give us a call to assist you in reducing your costs or expediting your entitlements.
