GLF Annual Meeting April 10

by Dave on April 7, 2010

A series of potential new projects for the Greater Lewes region will be presented at the annual meeting of the Greater Lewes Foundation on April 10. Bruce Galloway and Pat Faux of The Faux Group will moderate the discussion, which seeks to draw input from local residents.

This year’s theme is “Mobility, Neighborhoods and the Green Framework”. The project concepts resulted from the GLF “Future Scan” project for which The Faux Group served as consultants. Potential projects to be discussed include new walking and bicycling trails, a water taxi, improved parking and a jitney service to downtown and the beaches.

The public is invited to the meeting at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 10, in the meeting room, upstairs at the Lewes Public Library. Because seating is limited to the first 150, reservations should be made by calling 302-644-0107.

The GLF FutureScan study included a statistical impact of proposed development on the Greater Lewes Region over the next decade.

“From our first FutureScan public session, it became clear that the general public places a great priority on preserving open space in and around Lewes,” said Dennis N. Forney, chair of the GLF.

This year’s annual meeting also marks the 10th year anniversary of the GLF. Copies of the 2009-10 GLF annual report will be distributed at the meeting, and a new slate of officers for the foundation will be announced.
