Fresh Food Film Festival with Food, Inc. on May 15th

(Editorial note: This film will permanently change the way you think about food. I strongly advise everyone to see it. – Dave.)

From the Historic Lewes Farmer’s Market:

As part of our educational mission, The HLFM is joining with The RBFM to initiate a film festival that will increase our understanding of sustainable local farming. Our first film, Food, Inc., will be shown on Saturday, May 15 at the Milton Theatre.

This Academy Award Nominee for Best Documentary Feature takes a long, hard look at our nation’s food industry and its highly mechanized underbelly that most Americans don’t see.

Filmmaker Robert Kenner shows how our food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment. The film features interviews with such experts as Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore’s Dilemma, In Defense of Food), and others. If you really want to understand how food is mass-produced in this country and how it affects our children, and us then you need to see this film.
