Broadway’s Ted Keegan In Concert July 9

by Dave on June 16, 2010

Ted Keegan – direct from Broadway – performs “C’est Moi” from CAMELOT in last year’s Broadway Voices Concert.

Broadway veteran Ted Keegan just may start to feel right at home here at the Delaware beaches. After appearing in Clear Space Productions’ Broadway Voices series in 2009, Mr. Keegan was asked to join the company as Frank Butler in this summer’s production of Annie Get Your Gun. However, before he slips into his cowboy boots, he will take to the stage one more time to delight audiences with his one-man show – A Voice of Broadway.

At 7 p.m. On Friday, July 9 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, Clear Space Artistic Director Doug Yetter will accompany Ted in an evening of song and tales of show business. Yetter says that this one-night only concert will be similar to last year’s incarnation, but the two have performed and perfected the material in several other venues, adding special touches to make for a truly special night.

“A new highlight of the second act,” Yetter says, “is a medley literally from A to Z, consisting of songs that span Ted’s concert work, a majority of which has been with major symphony orchestras across the country.” Other favorite musical numbers included in the concert are “If I Loved You,” “The Impossible Dream,” and “C’est Moi,” recalling his performance as Lancelot opposite Robert Goulet.

Ted returns to Rehoboth Beach direct from a return engagement in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, where he has played the title role, in addition to the national tour and Las Vegas spectacular, for a total of over 3000 performances. So, how did Clear Space manage to bring in a performer with such credits on his resume? “We didn’t think he would be available,” says Yetter. “But, sometimes it pays to aim for a target you don’t think you can hit.”

You won’t want to miss this one-night only engagement! Tickets are available online at or via telephone at (302) 644-3810, and are priced $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, $15 for students and $5 for children 12 and under.
