Clear Space Opens New Home With ‘Broadway’

by Dave on August 31, 2010

Clear Space Theatre Company will begin their fall season with the latest incarnation of an audience favorite – 100 Years of Broadway III. Artistic Director Doug Yetter, who also serves as musical director/arranger for the production, has assembled an exciting line-up of musical numbers for this year’s show. The cast of eight, accompanied by Yetter on piano, will explore the tunes of Broadway musicals according to the era in which its source material is set. “I have spent my entire life collecting and studying the Broadway canon,” says Yetter. “Consequently, I have the chance every year to create a show with more of my favorite songs!” Some favorites in 100 Years of Broadway III include “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “All That Jazz,” “Till There Was You,” and “Gee, Officer Krupke.”

Along with creating a brand new production each year, Yetter has the opportunity to work with a new cast as well. “Every year, I’m blessed with a variety of wonderfully talented performers. This year, we’ve added a remarkable tenor and a spectacular dancer, which opens up the field of choices for music.” That tenor and dancer – Michael Matthias and Autumn Schneider – join 100 Years of Broadway veterans Jerry Birl, David Button, Dana Peragallo, Ken Skrzesz, Lorraine Steinhoff, and Erin Williams on stage this fall. Schneider, who is making her Clear Space performance debut with this production, is thrilled to join the company. “Clear Space produces amazing, professional theatre,” says Schneider. “I am most excited to simply work with such a talented and gifted company.”

100 Years of Broadway III will be Clear Space Theatre Company’s very first production in their new home, The Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts on Baltimore Ave. “Performing a feel-good show like this with wonderful, committed artists in a space that is our own is like a dream come true,” says company member Michael Matthias. 100 Years of Broadway III will run for two weekends, September 30 and October 1 at 7 pm and October 3 at 3 pm, as well as October 7-9 at 7 pm. “This cast has numerous specialties and the ability to work as an ensemble in every style from classic musical theatre to the latest pop hits,” says Yetter. “As a writer and arranger, it’s like musical theatre heaven.” Be sure to reserve your tickets today by calling the box office at 302.227.2270 or online at
