From DSP:

Early Friday morning September 3, 2010 around 2:55 a.m. a Delaware State Trooper on routine patrol observed a vehicle driving approximately 65 mph in a 40 mph zone.

The Trooper activated his emergency equipment and then approached the operator. The Trooper noticed a distinctive odor emitting from the interior of the car, a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. The Trooper believed it to be marijuana and after removing the occupants from the car began to search it.

The search of the Chevrolet Impala yielded negative results in locating the suspected marijuana. The Trooper walked back to his patrol car and when he entered it noticed a strong distinctive marijuana smell coming from the interior of his patrol car. The Trooper removed Edward Peterson who was a passenger in the Chevrolet Impala and searched the location where he was seated. The Trooper located two small baggies of a green leafy substance. After the Trooper conducted a preliminary test using a narcotics test kit it was confirmed to be marijuana. The approximate seizure weight of the marijuana is 1.8 grams.

Edward Peterson was arrested by Troopers for Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Peterson was later released on $750.00 unsecured bond.
