Freshman Andrew Pierce continued his hot start, rushing for 165 yards on 26 carries to lead the 16th-ranked Blue Hens to a dominant victory over 9th-ranked South Dakota State in Newark. Quarterback Pat Devlin completed 14 of 25 passes to seven different receivers and one touchdown in the win.

New York Giants 31, Carolina 18

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for two touchdowns as the Green Bay Packers fought off a furious charge from backup quarterback Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday. Vick threw for 175 yards and rushed for 103 to lead the second-half charge as an injury replacement for starter Kevin Kolb, who was sidelined with a concussion. Vick was stopped by linebacker Clay Matthews on a 4th and 1 late in the final quarter to seal the victory.

The Redskins held off the Cowboys thanks to a holding penalty against Dallas’ Alex Barron that nullified a last-second Tony Romo touchdown pass to Roy Williams. New Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb was 15 of 32 for 171 yards in his debut.

The Baltimore Ravens visit the New York Jets on Monday Night Football tonight at 7pm on ESPN.
